As most people would agree, DC Films has a lot to catch up to in terms of box office success next to Marvel films. Both have popular and compelling superhero characters but Marvel has proven its box office dominance multiple times in the past several years. In fact, Marvel’s Avengers is 5th in the all-time top box office films. With the highly anticipated release of the Aquaman movie, fans are hoping to close the gap.
Patrick Wilson Joins Aquaman movie cast
Patrick Wilson is a seasoned and famed actor. But he is most recently known for his highly successful horror movie series, The Conjuring. The movies were such a massive hit that at this point in time, almost everyone knows who he is.
Just recently, Deadline exclusively reported that Warner Bros and Aquaman movie director James Wan signed Patrick Wilson to co-star in the DC film. He will be playing the character ORM who is Aquaman’s half brother. Wilson and Wan both confirmed the news on their personal Twitter accounts.

This will not be Wilson’s first project with DC as he previously played character Dan Dreiberg a.k.a. the second Nite Owl in the Watchmen movie released in 2009. According to a report by Cinemablend, there have been a number of Watchmen actors who have appeared in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) projects like Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Billy Crudup. Wilson is the fourth actor confirmed to be part of the Aquaman movie. He will be joining lead actor Jason Momoa, Amber Heard as Mera and Willem Dafoe as Vulko.
Jason Momoa’s character first appeared in a cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and will be playing a major role in upcoming Justice League film. Aquaman is set to be released on October 5, 2018.
