This year has been the time when various types of drones have launched into the skies to capture an aerial view of the surface of the earth. We now await for more developments with more advanced specifications for the subsequent months.
These drones are becoming more mainstream and people are feeling the need to have them. Here are the best new drones 2016:
1. DJI Phantom 4 Pro
The Phantom 4 was released in March this year. This tops the best new drones 2016. This is the first revolutionary one to have a proper obstacle avoidance system. This means that it would not crash so easily when controlled and even when it is on autopilot. Its camera has also progressed into a 4K camera. This one has five cameras in all. It also shoots 120fps slo-mo videos.
Tech Advisor calls this “unquestionably DJI’s best drone yet.” However, batteries for this drone are very expensive, though the Phantom 4 is still a really good choice if you can afford it.
This costs $999. Buy it here.
2. DJI Phantom 3 Series
The DJI Phantom Series was released January this year. It comes in five varieties. DJI added a camera which gives better qualities in a particularly cheap drone. This device uses Wi-Fi instead of the expensive Lightbridge system found in the P3 Professional in bringing stable 4K videos and photographs.
This drone is the easiest to fly with the most flight time in its cheap price based on My First Drone.com. This is why it comes second on the list of best new drones 2016.
This costs $399 on sale. Buy it here.
3. DJI Inspire 1
DJI Inspire 1 comes with the features of Phantom 3 Professional, but is bigger and faster. This comes with a 4K camera and pans in 360 degree. This is best for shooting professional quality videos.
Besides looking cool, it is also the most professional ready-to-fly drone now out on the market. My First Drone.com even claims that if you look at this drone at first sight, you would want to have it. That describes the power of the DJI Inspire 1.
This costs $1,999. Buy it here.
4. Yuneec Typhoon H
Yuneec is a Chinese drone manufacturer and still has not made its name in the world of drones. But, its Typhoon H is the biggest competitor of DJI’s Phantom 4.
This a 6 rotor retractable drone with a 360 degree panning like DJI’s Inspire 1. This has over 20 minutes of flight time and obstacle avoidance just like the Phantom 4. In an experiment by My First Drone.com, they found out that this drone flies very smoothly.and handles wind greatly.
It comes with an all-in-one android controller. Thus, a smartphone is not necessary. However, its interface is weak as compared to DJI’s products. Additionally, there is still a need to upgrade to the Typhoon H Pro “with Realsense”, which amounts to $400 to get the full obstacle avoidance function. Despite this, the device is still rated as an overall good drone.
This costs $999.99. Buy it here.
5. Yuneec Q500 4K
Yuneec’s Q500 4K is an older model. It captures 4K videos similar to the Phantom 4 and Typhoon H. For its cheap price, it has a variety of features such as two batteries and a hand mount that allows you to take the camera off the drone in order to be used as a mini handheld stabilized camera system.
Even if this drone looks like a vacuum cleaner as opined by My First Drone.com, it is still a good deal. Even though it is not as popular as DJI’s drones, it has a unique feature wherein an android device is built in the drone which can then be used as a controller. Just a caution, get the new silver and black 4K version because it has a superior camera over the Q500 with a 1080p cam.
This costs $800. Buy it here.
