Mads Mikkelsen will be playing the antagonist in Kojima Productions’ upcoming game titled Death Stranding. Kojima Productions recently sent out a tweet confirming that HideoTube will be returning early next month. Mads Mikkelsen will be the first guest star after its long hiatus.

Death Stranding is far from its release date. However, news for the game has been coming in frequently. Some notable updates include Guillerme del Toro’s involvement in the creative process of the game. Furthermore, Hideo Kojima recently talked about the sexualization of characters, and how he will be treating that in the game.
The director of Death Stranding, Kojima, tweeted that the actor will be coming out in the first HideoTube after its hiatus. Here’s the tweet that teased Mikkelsen’s appearance in the show:

Mikkelsen made his film debut in Nicolas Winding Refn’s internationally film Pusher (1996). The film later gave birth to two sequels, where the actor played a drug dealer. Next, he played comic roles in popular Danish films. In 1999, the actor played a leading role as Lenny, a film expert who suffered from a personality disorder. In 2000, he played a gangster opposite Ulrich Thomsen, Søren Pilmark, and Nikolaj Lie Kaas in Anders Thomas Jensen’s Copenhagen gangster movie, Flickering Lights. He gained wider popularity the following year when he starred in the gay comedy Shake It All About (2001).
Mikkelsen’s breakthrough and his longest running role was as a policeman in Niels Arden Oplev’s Danish television series Rejseholdet. He won the 2002 Best Actor Award from TvFestival.dk. Furthermore, the series’ 32 episodes stretched over four years. He became widely known internationally for his role as Tristan in Jerry Bruckheimer’s King Arthur (2004), which was a commercial success.

In 2016, Mikkelsen was a member of the main competition jury of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. In addition, he appeared as Kaecilius in the Marvel film Doctor Strange, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Tilda Swinton. He portrayed Galen Erso in the Star Wars film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Now, he will star alongside Norman Reedus in Hideo Kojima’s upcoming title Death Stranding, portraying the main antagonist through voice acting and motion capture.
