Legendary game designer Hideo Kojima is very keen on saying anything about Death Stranding. The mysterious-sounding title might be something that Kojima has never made before.
Hideo Kojima On Death Stranding
The Spielberg of video games said that he wanted Death Stranding to be something that people can grasp easily. He quipped, “But after an hour or two they’ll start to notice something a little different.” Kojima aims to make the title something that they’ve never seen before.
Kojima went on to say that he wants to be deemed as a risk-taker, even if it means he loses fans. For instance, he took music groups as an example. “They constantly change their music from previous albums, adapting and evolving through the ages. They might lose some fans along the way, but they bring in new ones,” he stressed. The director wants the same approach for Death Stranding and other games under his new wing, Kojima Productions.
The Director On The Future Of Kojima Productions
The brains behind the well-loved franchise, Metal Gear is anticipating the future after his spat with Konami. Kojima said that they are looking forward to the future, wanting to be there to give gamers a different kind of experience. Even though they are already preparing for the future, the director claimed that their focus now is on their next game.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he is happy that the studio is not yet listed in the stock exchange. This gives his team more time to focus their energy on making good games instead of focusing on what sells. He said that he’s been in the industry for almost 30 years. His stint in the industry gave him the perspective to know what will work and what will not. The Metal Gear creator set up shop titled Kojima Productions, after leaving Konami in December 2015.
