The recently implemented DOTA 2 7.00 update offers not just a new playable character, but also several changes to the system of the game itself.
New Character: The Monkey King
The latest addition to the DOTA 2 roster. Sun Wukong, based on the classic Chinese mythological figure, and main character of the Journey to the West novel, is an Agility type hero. He could serve as a Melee / Carry / Escape / Disabler to the team.
There are also a lot of other notable changes in the recent DOTA 2 7.00 update which are as follows:
One of the most obvious changes in the game is the HUD which has been redesigned. It now bears a more refined appearance compared to the old HUD.
Roshan has been relocated near the power-up rune, and to make things worse, his attack range has increased and had also gained additional armor. On the brighter side Roshan’s max HP and health regeneration has been somewhat toned down.
There is also a new building in the map available for both factions: ‘The Shrine’. It has the ability to grant 120 HP and 40 MP regen for 5 seconds. It doesn’t have a vision though, and could only be damaged once tier 2 towers are out.
Finally. there is also a new ancient neutral camp.
The runes are now categorized into two: power-up and bounty.
Leveling and the New Talent System
The days of leveling stats are now over, as it has been replaced by a per-hero talent system. The new per-hero talent system works by providing passive bonuses whenever the levels 10, 15, 20 and 25 are reached. This change in the system was also confirmed in the Game Spot and PC Gamer websites.
The ‘Backpack’ feature
Perhaps the best addition in the DOTA 2 7.00 Update is the backpack feature. Now players could carry 3 additional items from the start. The only drawback is that items in the backpack cannot be used, nor grant passive bonuses for items that possess such. Its actual purpose is to make carrying around recipe items less troublesome.
