Electronic Arts Sports shared that FIFA 18 for the Nintendo Switch will be customized for Nintendo’s innovative new gaming system. Take a look at the details below.
FIFA For The Nintendo Switch
Nintendo is actively pursuing third-party support by securing deals with developers to create games for its new console. Furthermore, the game giant aims to bring big name franchises to the entertainment system. One of the third-party games in store for the Nintendo Switch is the blockbuster soccer series FIFA. The franchise is including another title in its long line of games, called FIFA 18.
At a FIFA event in Paris, EA Sports Chief Competition Officer Peter Moore revealed details about the upcoming game. It will be “custom-built” for the Nintendo Switch. Others are worried that the game won’t be as fully packed as its non-Nintendo counterparts as seen with other EA Sports titles for the Wii. Moore said, “Well, as we have said, we are custom-building a FIFA version for the Nintendo Switch. It will be FIFA 18, and it will obviously be later this year when FIFA 18 comes out.”
Not The Last Generation Port
It seems that FIFA on the Switch won’t be a last generation port of the game. Fans are anticipating to see the game in action beyond brief snaps in commercials. There is a possibility that the Switch version will have inferior graphics or a less sophisticated suite of features compared to other versions.
Nintendo’s support for online gameplay has been sluggish in the past. However, it seems like the game giant is trying to turn things around with the Switch. The Nintendo Switch’s online service will require a membership just like Xbox Live and PlayStation Plus, which is why it’s safe to assume that Nintendo is spending money in providing a quality online experience for future Switch owners. If the Switch’s online features can level with the competition, there is a possibility that EA Sports won’t have to take out any features from FIFA 18 as it has done for other FIFA games for Nintendo.
These are just predictions until EA Sports shares more details about the game this year. On the other hand, Moore’s comments inform players that the game is being built for the Nintendo Switch. It is possible that the game will launch at the same time as versions of it for PlayStation and Xbox.
The game will be available later this year. Stay tuned to Video Games Republic to catch the latest on video games, tech, and more.
