Final Fantasy 14 Update Reveals New Dungeons – Full Details Here

A new patch for Final Fantasy 14 is set to launch next month, along with two new dungeons and other updates.

After Square Enix had finished with Final Fantasy 15, their focus appears to have shifted to the remake of Final Fantasy 7. But that doesn’t mean they had neglected and forgotten about their massively multiplayer online role-playing game in the main series, Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn.

Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn serves as reboot of sorts for the unfortunately ill-received original Final Fantasy XIV. While it is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, both incarnations are still under the flagship of the main series, or the numbered Final Fantasy‘s.

Here are what to expect so far for the 3.5 patch:

Main Scenario lore update

As with any MMORPG, an update on the lore is expected whenever there is a patch, except for some rare cases. The main scenario lore for Final Fantasy XIV has thankfully been updated as expected.

2 New Dungeons in Final Fantasy 14

2 dungeons are going to be added to the game when the 3.5 patch gets implemented. They are Baelsar’s Wall and Sohm Al. No specific details involving the new dungeons have been provided yet, aside from official descriptions briefly describing the new dungeons and their lore. Sohm Al is also said to be under the Hard difficulty. Thus, those who wish to try it as soon as the patch is released better start grinding now.

Updated Party Finder Feature

A quite convenient update to the Party Finder feature has been added. For the upcoming patch, the Party Finder now allows players to recruit party members from any world, as long as they are within the same data center. This would make forming a party easier. So this means less lonely dungeon raids for players who are only forced to do such, only because of the reason that they are having trouble finding proper party members to play with.

Patch 3.5 Release Date

The patch is set for release this January 2017, as reported by God Is A Geek. More details for the patch, along with the upcoming major expansion Stormblood March next year, would be revealed Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival. The event takes place in Tokyo this December 23 and 24, as posted in Siliconera.
