Final Fantasy 15 fans who were looking forward to updates and downloadable content for the game may have to wait a little longer. The Magitek Exosuit DLC is reportedly delayed due to some copyright issues.
In just less than a week after announcing the release of Magitek Exosuits for Final Fantasy 15, Square Enix had to delay its release and redo them. According to reports, feedback for the suits pointed out that they looked similar to the ones used by the Power Rangers. With this, the developers have decided to redesign the suits.
Director of Final Fantasy 15 Hajime Tabata and Marketing Manager Akio Ofuji confirmed this in a recent live stream. They mentioned the Exosuits and confirmed why they had to change it.
Originally, the release of the Magitek Exosuits was on February 21. There is no exact date given as to when the redesigned suits will be available, but fans are hoping it could be soon.

In a recent Active Time Report, the Power Rangers IP contacted Square Enix regarding the similarity of the Magitek Exosuits. According to reports, they spent a day looking into the factors of these suits and decided to redesign it.
Hajime Tabata said that they were not trying to turn their characters into Power Rangers. But, he did acknowledge that there were copyright issues in the design that they have to deal with.
Furthermore, Tabata said that it seemed like the designs would cause problems. Thus, it was probably a wise move to delay the release of the suits than have them face copyright charges.
The Magitek Exosuits date back to Final Fantasy VI but were more known as armors. They were also an important part of the game.
Armored suits resemble that of the ongoing Japanese Super Sentai shows where the Power Rangers used to be in. They were originally known as Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger before becoming known worldwide as Power Rangers.
The inspiration for the new Magitek Exosuits could have come from this and that could be the reason for the similarity. Although as mentioned previously, it was not the developers’ intention to change them entirely to into Power Rangers.
The plans for the Magitek Exosuits were for Noctis, Ignis, Gladiolus and Prompto. Once worn, they would become invincible for a limited time of 30 minutes. The suit needs a 24 hour recharge in order for them to use it again.
