Final Fantasy 15 Update: What To Expect From Upcoming Active Time Report

Final Fantasy 15 was released in November after more than a decade of waiting. Luckily, the game was a success. There are plenty of players waiting for information on future updates and downloadable content (DLC).

Final Fantasy 15 Active Time Report Stream

Square Enix is holding a special Final Fantasy 30th anniversary event tomorrow, January 31. It will explain what the studio has planned for the series throughout 2017. They will be releasing information about the future of Final Fantasy 15 as well. Square Enix will be holding a special Final Fantasy XV Active Time Report stream through their official Japanese YouTube channel. It will happen a few days after the studio’s anniversary event on February 2.

There are speculations that the stream will include Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata and marketing manager Akio Ofuji. The two will be discussing the future of the game. Even more, the announcement was quite mysterious. There will be a video message from a mysterious person during the Active Time Report stream. Fans will have to wait and see during the stream. The Active Time Report stream for Final Fantasy XV starts at 8:00 AM Eastern Time on February 2. Square Enix is set to reveal new content that will be arriving soon.

Final Fantasy XV DLC Update

In addition, the DLC updates may possibly bring in more locations to the games. Plenty of areas in the map are inaccessible. YouTube user Migl Siki discovered an unexplored area through certain glitches in the Cartanica train station. The developers may use this area in future DLCs. Another YouTube user named Fotm Hero found unexplored areas using certain glitches in Tenebrae, Pagla and more as again reported in another news article by Gaming Bolt.

Hajime Tabata promised that DLCs will “change the game’s foundation.” He explained in an interview with Famitsu as translated by DualShockers that this is in “preparation for new initiatives.” Moreover, Tabata said that he believes in the approach to updating single-player games. He said that what he and his Square Enix team is doing with the game’s present title will be done in the future with further Final Fantasy games. He said that this will come as a “new trend.” It looks like DLCs are definitely here to stay, especially in the future of the Final Fantasy franchise.

The game is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Stay tuned to Video Games Republic to catch the latest on video games, tech, and more.
