Final Fantasy 7 Remake Release Date: Mako Reactor Revealed In Mobius

New information on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake was revealed. Square Enix recently posted that the Steam version of the studio’s Mobius Final Fantasy will be getting an English release on February 6. Furthermore, Square Enix announced that a crossover event, which features Cloud from Final Fantasy 7, will happen the next day.

Mobius Final Fantasy Event

The Mobius Final Fantasy event will utilize in-game assets from the PlayStation 4 remake. In addition, this includes Cloud’s model. Project Leader Naoki Hamaguchi mentioned that they received 3D resources from the Final Fantasy 7 remake. Even more, he stressed that it includes Guard, Scorpion, Cloud, and the Mako Reactor. He detailed that his team is currently setting the reactor to fit cohesively in Mobius Final Fantasy.

The director teased the possibility of a collaboration event. It was a good way to promote their free-to-play game on PC, while giving fans a taste of what to expect from the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Hamaguchi said that the scale of development for a PS4 title is larger than mobile. Moreover, he estimated that it will take a little while longer to showcase the new Final Fantasy game to everyone. Meanwhile, Producer Yoshinori Kitase mentioned that he is extremely happy to show one aspect of the game in this fashion. Mobius Final Fantasy made this a reality. It allows them to utilize the data from Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Plot

The seventh installment of Final Fantasy retells the story of the original game. It follows Cloud Strife, a former Shinra soldier who joined the AVALANCHE, an eco-terrorist group. They are mercenaries whose mission is to defeat the Shinra corporation. The Shinra Corporation was known to drain the planet’s life energy. Overall, the game is a full remake built from the ground-up.

The remake uses a real-time battle system similar to the Kingdom Hearts series. It allows players to freely control Cloud or one of his allies while they use their respective weapons to attack opponents. Players can use magic and summons, while a Limit Break gauge allows characters to perform powerful attacks once charged.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is currently under development. It will be released for the PlayStation 4. Stay tuned to Video Games Republic to catch the latest on video games, tech, and more.
