Frozen 2 is a sequel to the top-grossing animated movie of all time. It is to be released in 2018, but its star, Idina Menzel, may be leaving the show.
As the story unfolds further, fans are curious if Idina Menzel will still sing in the film. Rumors spread that she will be replaced by popular pop stars such as Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande and Rihanna.
Idina Menzel Leaving
As reported in Morning Ledger, Idina Menzel who is behind the voice of Elsa and sang Let It Go, may not be able to return for the film’s sequel. This is said to be due to her busy schedule for her upcoming wedding.
Menzel may be replaced by Demi Lovato, who recorded her own rendition of Let It Go which was featured in the film. The names of Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Rihanna have popped up and are said to replace the 45-year old actress as well. However, reports say that Demi Lovato has the closest voice range with Menzel and that she might have the most potential among the other choices. But if Menzel leaves, the movie would not be the same.
In an interview with Menzel, as published in the Huffington Post, the actress revealed that she has no idea where her character is going creatively. She only mentioned that she is a “servant of Disney”.
Characters and Plot Changes
The plot for the sequel will get more interesting as it changes. According to Morning News USA, Queen Elsa may come out as a lesbian in the sequel. She will be the first Disney princess with a unique gender preference.
Other references say that Olaf is really a human trapped in a snowman’s body. He may soon escape from this curse and even meet the love of his life.
Despite this information, makers of the film have not officially announced any changes in the characters and plot. The release date within 2018 is not yet certain as well.
