Rockstar North and Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 4 back in 2008 for the PS3, Xbox 360 consoles, and the PC platform. The game has now been made backwards compatible. This means that the game allows for inter-operation from the older Xbox 360 that can now be played in the newer Xbox One. This is exactly what Rockstar did with GTA 4.
Grand Theft Auto 4 and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City
GTA 4 has now been made compatible with the latest Xbox One. The open world action-adventure third-person shooter video game is now available for playing on modern day devices such as the Xbox One. Thus, players can use Xbox 360 discs with the latest platform.
Aside from GTA 4, the standalone compilation of its episodes, GTA: Episodes from Liberty City, is also now playable on the Xbox One. This includes all versions, either physical or digital. This means that gamers can play all sequels of the main game and the Complete Edition on the said device.
Players can also transfer save data that they uploaded on their save file to the Saved Games Cloud on the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One. Players can also choose to purchase digital copies from the Xbox Live Marketplace.
The Success of Grand Theft Auto 4
GTA 4 and GTA 5 are two of the main entries in the series available on the Xbox One. People revere the said installments most in the franchise. In fact, GTA 5 continues to perform well in the gaming markets as reported by Polygon.
The game’s fourth title has had its fair share of success despite criticisms regarding its violent content and use of alcohol. Within two hours of its release, it sold over 3.6 million copies worldwide, equivalent to $310 million. It was even the fastest-selling game of all time in the UK at that time.
In fact, the number of copies sold by Rockstar Games exceeded the expectations for success by game analysts. The game broke three Guinness World Records on May 13, 2008, namely: highest-grossing video game in 24 hours, highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours, and fastest-selling video game in 24 hours. However, the game was beaten by its successor, GTA 5, which has shipped over than 75 million copies as of February 7, 2017.
The game was also a recipient of several allocades, including the Game of the Year award upon its release. It also received seven nominations at the 5th British Academy Video Games Awards and three for the 9th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards. Grab this opportunity to have this award-winning and best-selling game played on your Xbox One consoles now!
