Halo Wars 2 Beta: Gameplay, Release Date & More

Can’t wait to play Halo Wars 2? The wait is almost over, because 343 Industries released a Blitz beta version for the fans who can’t wait to play the full game. Take a look at the details here.

What is Blitz?

343 Industries named the Halo Wars 2 beta, Blitz. It offers a twist to real time strategy (RTS) gameplay, which combines deck building. Furthermore, it offers split-decision making of card-based strategy play. It also includes explosive tactical combat in the Halo universe.

To capture a location, players must position units over it either on ground or air. Holding more control points than the enemy in Halo Wars 2 means there are more possibilities to rack up score points. Meanwhile, when both teams are in the same number of locations, the scoring stops. There are one versus one (1v1), two versus two (2v2), and three versus three (3v3) options. The Blitz beta version lets players find matches.

Players are given a collection of cards. As the game progresses, they can earn more by finishing the in-game tutorial. Even more, they can get additional cards at the daily and weekly challenges. Want more cards? Winning matches will let players get even more cards to play as they level up. However, the winnings in the beta version does not carry over to the full game. To make up for the lost progress, 343 Industries will give two packs once they log in to the full game. Just log in to get the first pack. Next, complete the first match to get the second pack.

The team that reaches 200 points automatically wins the game. Meanwhile, in case no one reaches the required points, anyone who gets the most hits within the 12-minute mark wins the match.

The strength of the player’s cards will determine who wins in the beta game. SKE7CH wrote a detailed walkthrough of Blitz in the Halo Waypoint site.

Halo Wars 2 will be released on February 17 for Xbox One and PC. Now, the beta version can be downloaded in the Microsoft Store. Stay tuned to Video Games Republic to catch the latest on video games, tech, and more.
