Here’s Where To Buy Nintendo Switch Without Any Pre-Orders

The much-awaited Nintendo Switch will finally be available on Friday, March 3, 2017. With pre-orders basically sold out, gamers who didn’t reserve a console still have a chance.

There are retailers who have revealed they have Nintendo Switch units available for launch day purchase. Last week, GameStop revealed that there would be limited supplies of the console available for walk-in customers during the midnight launch event on March 3rd.

Now, BGR reports that both Target and Best Buy have announced they will also have Nintendo Switch devices on hand. Likewise, Target has also confirmed they will be making units available for shoppers.

Launch-Day Purchase Details

There’s no need to run around town looking for consoles as big-box retailers Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, and GameStop have all confirmed units are available without pre-orders. However, it’s important to recognize that consoles are sold in limited quantities and in very high demand.

Here’s everything we know about the outlet’s sale details:

  1. Target: Target’s game console and accessories were sold out earlier but it has confirmed new stocks are going to be available. Target will begin selling the Switch at 8 AM on March 3. There is still no word on a midnight launch.
  2. GameStop: GameStop will have a midnight release event where limited supplies of the console are available for those who didn’t pre-order. Per Cnet, participating stores open their doors at 12:01 am local time. Customers will get a free Zelda poster.
  3. Wal-Mart: Online sales of the Switch are sold out online but accessories and games are available through the website. Walmart has confirmed its midnight sale begins at 12:01 am in Walmart Supercenters. If the Supercenter near you doesn’t operate 24 hours, it’s best to find out when they will make the units available.
  4. Best Buy: Best Buy will have Switch units beyond pre-ordered devices. Customers can buy one on a first-come, first-served basis on launch day. A ticket system will be in place and there will only be as many tickets as there are available consoles. Over 600 stores across the country will open at 12:01 am to sell the Switch devices.

Nintendo Stocks

If pre-orders are any indication, Nintendo Switch is set to be a big success for Nintendo. BGR noted that per the tech firm, they are prepared to replenish stocks over the coming weeks and months.

The Switch launches on March 3rd for $299.99 and extra sets of the Joy-Con controllers are available for $80.
