The Injustice 2 release date has been keeping fans and enthusiasts on tenterhooks for a long time now. However, the initial reported 28th of March date has been proven to be false in recent times. The game director has put a rest to all these rumors.
The Injustice 2 release date was a matter of immense speculation amongst gamers. There was an earlier leak taken from the Xbox Live Rewards page. This claimed that the game would have an official release on the 28th of March.
The Injustice 2 release date was supposedly leaked in this fashion in tandem with launch dates for two other games. These are Mass Effect: Andromeda and South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Game Rant reports that Ed Boon, the game director, has already shot down the launch date rumors.
What Ed Boon Said
He has taken to Twitter and issued a statement saying that the game “is not coming out March 28”. However, fans are still hoping for an early release of the game. An earlier marketing calendar revealed by GameStop talked of a first half release in 2017.
The game will certainly benefit from an early release in 2017. This is because there are several well known fighting games in the pipeline. These include Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite which should be out in late 2017.
More Details on the Game
An early release will help lure gamers and lead to higher sales volumes in turn. In fact, all four releases by NetherRealm Studios have happened within the first four months of a year. Injustice 2 could well follow the same pattern.
The game is expected to be launched for both Xbox One and PS4. The launch of the game has also been confirmed by Game Revolution. However, no exact release dates can be specified as of now. Although the March release rumors have been nipped in the bud, there still remains hope of getting the game sometime soon.
