An iPhone 8 update has been leaked online that claims that Apple might release not one, not two, but three iPhone models this coming 2017.
Three iPhone Models In 2017
CN Beta user Sina Weibo has leaked what seems to be two manufacturing documents for the new iPhone 8. These allegedly came from Apple’s East Asia supply chain. The documents refer to Apple’s D20, D21, and D22 models. AppleInsider claims that Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were apparently codenamed D10 and D20 respectively. So, Apple D21 and D22 may be new models. While D20 is confusingly said to be a new model, it has the same code name as iPhone 7 Plus.
Japanese website Macotakara also revealed that Apple is planning to release the latest “iPhone 7s”and “iPhone 7s Plus” alongside another high-end iPhone model next year. In addition, the iPhone is believed to get a new color which is red.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo has also divulged and written to investors that there will indeed be three versions, in a report by Mac Rumors. Two models will come with displays that have the same dimensions as the iPhone 7. These will measure 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches and have been dubbed as the “iPhone 7s” and “iPhone 7s Plus”.
iPhone 8 Design and Specs
The leak also included a completely redesigned high-end version mentioned above which shall be hidden in the codename “Ferrari”. This will be the big update next year. According to the leaked source, the manufacturing specs suggest that this model will be made up of an OLED screen. This may also come with an edge-to-edge design. The Ferrari model will also have wireless charging and an invisible home button.
All these details have been shared in other iPhone 8 rumors as well.
Apple also wanted a design that separates the logic board into units like processor and storage, and Wi-Fi and cellular parts. The phone’s internal parts would definitely be rearranged.
Although nothing has been expressly confirmed by Apple itself, we are expecting a lot from the next lineups of the life-changing iOs phone next year, if there will be one. The 2017 iPhone will be the 10th anniversary iPhone of the company.
