Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date: Still A Long Way To Go, Says Director

Kingdom Hearts 3 fans, hear this. Tetsuya Nomura released a development update that may or may not please the players who are awaiting the release of the game.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Update

The director is happy to report that they are steadily having progress in the development of Kingdom Hearts 3. However, there are some parts of the game that are not yet ready for display. It seems fans need to wait a little longer until Square Enix is ready to release an update. Nomura stated in an interview with Weekly Famitsu that Kingdom Hearts 3 might not be hitting the shelves soon. However, the director said that Square Enix will be releasing Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue in January. Meanwhile, a snow sculpture based on Final Fantasy VII will be raised in February at the Sapporo Snow Festival.

There are a lot of events waiting for the fans in 2017. In March, Square Enix will launch Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5. In addition, the studio starts the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra world tour the same month. Moreover, Nomura mentioned plans on holding a D23 Disney event, and production for Kingdom Hearts Unchained X Season 2.

Nomura shared that a package of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 Remix, and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue might not be feasible. He stressed that timing is delicate as of the moment. Although, the director mentioned that an E-store bonus and a box set might be available once the games hit the shelves.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Update

Meanwhile, the director apologized in advance because the release of the Final Fantasy VII remake is not going to be as soon as fans think. He emphasized that he wants to deliver a game that will meet fans’ expectations, which means that they will take as much time as they can to deliver a good game.

However, the launch of other titles within the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchise might be enough to keep its avid gamers occupied. At least for now, while Square Enix is hard at work in ironing out the kinks and developing its best version yet.
