Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date & Update: Utada Hikaru Working On New Theme Song

It seems that the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date is fast approaching. Utada Teruzane c0nfirmed that Utada Hikaru is working with Square Enix on the theme song for the beloved video game.

Teruzane said in the past that the project almost did not push through because of the contract negotiations with Disney. The team already made a compromise with the animation mogul, and is now collaborating with the studio for the soundtrack.

Hikaru rose to stardom in 1999 with the release of her Japanese-language album titled, First Love. She garnered the highest first week sales of an album in one territory. Furthermore, she collaborated with Disney for the soundtrack of Kingdom Hearts, titled Simple and Clean. Also, the singer was responsible for the theme song for Kingdom Hearts 2, titled Sanctuary.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date

Square Enix has been silent for the longest time on updates for Kingdom Hearts 3. Good news is, game director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that they are currently reworking on all the prototypes. Nonetheless, the studio is moving forward and is on track before the big reveal of new information soon.

Nomura also mentioned in an interview that they are also working on the errors in Situation Command. Moreover, the studio is meticulously ironing out the kinks so that it will not look like a quick time event (QTE), among others. Situation commands are essential in the world of Kingdom Hearts. In addition, these controls are an evolution of the reaction commands in Kingdom Hearts 2.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix and 2.5 ReMix

Square Enix revealed that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix as well as 2.5 ReMix will be released on PlayStation 4 in March 2017.  This may mean that players would have to wait longer for the release of the 3rd installment of the game.

Meanwhile, the update might be giving the fans mixed signals on when they will get their hands on Kingdom Hearts 3. Nevertheless, it is certain that Nomura and Square Enix are hard at work to deliver possibly the best installment of the Kingdom Hearts franchise soon.
