Mafia 3 fans have something more to look forward to in 2017 as the game teases us with more details on the game’s downloadable content (DLC). This gives players three new stories that will add a bit of flair to the lovely city of New Bordeaux. However, there are also tons of add-ons with the DLCs.
It can be remembered that Mafia 3 was one of the most-awaited games of last year. After all, the success of Grand Theft Auto 5 pulled players into the open-world genre. With the absence of a throwback open-world game, Mafia is ready to answer the call.
The result was a completely remodeled New Orleans in the mid-60’s, which was at the height of the mafioso. Mafia 3 brought players smack right into the confines of an intense conflict inside the city. It is up to players, as Lincoln Clay, to make his destiny as a new mafia boss in the city.
Mafia 3: Story Expansions, New Characters
The new sneak peeks of the DLCs came courtesy of the game’s official website. Hangar 13 details the three DLCs with their own descriptions and release dates. It appears the three DLCs have condensed stories of their own, each expanding the culture of the city and the characters in the game.
The first DLC, Faster, Baby! appears to be dedicated to cars. It is slated to release at the end of March and features “dramatic chases” and stunts. Lincoln Clay joins forces with Roxy Laveau, who is out to take down a corrupt sheriff that is terrorizing Civil Rights activists. It seems Clay and Laveau will take it to the suburbs as the sheriff is based on the outskirts of the city.
Stones Unturned is the second DLC of the game. It is about a yet-to-be-named rival that “resurfaces” in New Bordeaux. This forces Lincoln Clay to join with ex-Central Intelligence Agency agent John Donovan. The two will try to finally settle a blood feud that began in Vietnam. Players can expect this DLC in May.
The final DLC, Sign of the Times, is the last of the DLCs slated for the game so far. The game takes players into the realm of the supernatural as Lincoln Clay investigates a string of ritualistic killings. Per Father James’ request, Lincoln will hunt down the cult responsible for the killings. However, this exposes Lincoln to the dark, drug-ridden underbelly of the city. This DLC will be released in July.
According to GameSpot, the previous DLCs of the game also offered more than just story expansions. It appears the previous DLCs released with the game will pave way to the features in the story. However, this is also separate from the upgrades it received for the PlayStation 4 Pro.
The game has had four DLC packs that included a myriad of features for players. This includes new weapons such as a golden gun, and an improved wardrobe for the cast. There is also a new free racing mode and car customization as well.
Players who want to wait for the DLC can try the main game, which was released last October 2016 for the PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.
