Manchester United has lost out on Harry Kane since the coveted striker has just signed a new extension to his contract. This new extension will keep him at Tottenham Hotspur till the year 2022.
Rumors abound about how Manchester United was eager to land Kane. Kane then decided to seek a more stable career at the Spurs. This contract is aimed as a reply towards the advances made by United towards luring him in the January transfer window.
Sports Nova has also confirmed that Kane has taken this step to counter any interest shown in him by the Red Devils. Kane signed a five and a half year contract in February 2015 with the Spurs. The club has now given him a better contract to keep Man U at bay.
Why Manchester United Is Interested in Kane
Man U has long been interested in Kane since he is now one of the best strikers in Europe. The new deal will give Kane approximately £125,000 every week as per reports. Kane is the top scorer in the English Premier League last season.
However, he has been battling a major ankle injury this season and has made only 8 appearances so far. Despite this, he returned in the derby against Arsenal and then scored two goals against West Ham United. He followed up this impressive performance with another goal against Monaco.
What Kane Also Said
Kane has already talked about his feelings for the club and how “the club is moving in the right direction”. He talked of the “special feeling” upon signing another contract and also about “how much I love this team”.
There are also rumors of Real Madrid having made a bid for Kane earlier. However, The Guardian confirms that Kane’s contract till 2022 puts paid to all these hopes.
