Mario Sports Superstars Release Date: Europe To Have Earlier Launch

Mario Sports Superstars is an upcoming sports game by Camelot Software Planning. Nintendo first announced the game in a Nintendo Direct event last September 1. Nintendo will publish it on the Nintendo 3DS video game console. It will capture five sports: namely baseball, golf, horse racing, soccer and tennis. Nintendo will release the game on March 10, 2017 in Europe. It will be much earlier than the release in US and Japan.

The sports contained in Mario Sports Superstars – which Nintendo will release on March 10 in Europe according to a report by Game Spot – are not just mini-games. It will be one of the hugest releases on the Nintendo 3DS. They are full-scale versions of each respective sport. It coincides with the same rules, guidelines and standards in the professional sports. Each individual sport is inclusive of local multiplayers and online multiplayer modes. It will also have single player tournaments. The cast of characters in the game are all playable. This includes Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Wario, Waluigi, and Rosalina. In the game, horse racing will make its first time on Mario Sports. The game will also go with one amiibo card packed with it for a limited time only. Interested players can view the game in Nintendo’s official website here. The game is worth $39.99.

Camelot Software Planning developed Mario Sports Superstars. They were also the ones responsible for the development of other sports video games related to the Mario installments which Nintendo originally owns. This includes the series of Mario Golf: World Tour and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash.

Not For Nintendo Switch

The busiest day for Nintendo will come on March 3. This is the day when the Nintendo Switch will arrive and will be made available in Nintendo stores worldwide. Unfortunately, Mario Sports Superstars will not be making its way on this particular platform.

On a brighter note, Reggie Fils-Aime of Nintendo of America said that the company will deliver more games for the Nintendo Switch. He also claimed that this is bound to happen on a regular basis so that the users are spontaneously satisfied with their new gaming console. “It really is the steady pacing of content that continually reinforces for the people who bought into the platform why they made a smart choice, as well as what compels people who might be sitting on the sidelines to jump in,” he said.
