Mass Effect Andromeda N7 Armor: Wearing Alec Ryder’s Uniform Angers One NPC

Mass Effect Andromeda allows players to wear the N7 Armor that originally belonged to the character’s father. However, wearing such would cause a unique interaction with one of the NPCs in the game.

Interacting with August Bradley while wearing the N7 Armor will start a unique conversation. Bradley will mention that Scott or Sara Ryder, depending on the player’s choice, should be careful in wearing the said armor.

He mentions how the N7 is not just an armor that anyone can just “put on” since those who originally wore them earned it. The character will then mention how he served with the alliance too, but Bradley seemed to have answered sarcastically.

With the right choice of dialogue, the player can explain the reason why he had to wear the N7 Armor. Bradley will somehow understand and would not ask the player to take off the armor since it did belong to his father.

N7 is a rank earned in Mass Effect  by those who have completed the Interplanetary Combatives Training (ICT) program a number of times. Commander Shepard and Alec Ryder, the character’s father, were some of those who rose to the said rank and earned the N7 Armor.

There are plenty of minor nuances like this in the game, which adds impact to each player’s decisions. An example of this is a unique dialogue depending on the Training specialization players assign to the Ryder sibling in the character customization.

How to Get the N7 Armor

In order to unlock and wear the original N7 Armor in Mass Effect Andromeda, head to a research terminal on The Tempest or at an outpost then select Research. Look under at the Milky Way Blueprints and select the Armor category.

There will be four pieces of N7 Gear to be crafted, helmet, chest piece, legs, and arms. Players can unlock these by spending research points they can earn by completing missions, scanning stuff, or waiting for the next resource drop.

Once research, move over to the development screen where each N7 Gear will require a specific amount of materials. Players can buy some of the materials from the terminal on The Tempest or they can just mine them in appropriate planets. The materials required for each gear piece include the following:

N7 Helmet

  • 10 Omni-Gel Canisters
  • 50 Copper
  • 20 Iridium
  • 10 Platinum

N7 Chest

  • 30 Omni-Gel Canisters
  • 140 Copper
  • 70 Iridium
  • 20 Platinum

N7 Legs

  • 10 Omni-Gel Canisters
  • 50 Copper
  • 20 Iridium
  • 10 Platinum

N7 Arms

  • 10 Omni-Gel Canisters
  • 50 Copper

Once the player has crafted every gear piece for the full N7 Armor, he can head out over to the Loadout Station inside The Tempest to make it look more authentic. There, the player can change outfit colors, the pattern, and the pattern color.
