It’s almost time to get to Andromeda. N7 has just revealed the official Mass Effect Andromeda release date, and it’s coming soon.
BioWare has just locked in the release date of the next installment of its big franchise. BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn himself revealed the good news in a message. He also explained why the launch date has been kept secret for a long while.
He added Mass Effect Andromeda is their most “ambitious” game in the franchise to date. But then again, why is that?
Mass Effect Andromeda Release Date in March
The general manager explained that devs at BioWare took home what is called a “holiday build” of the game. This is apparently an ongoing studio tradition even back before the original game was released. This appears to be some sort of beta test, where developers themselves play the game and offer insights on its features.
The feedback appears good, as developers from the original trilogy enjoyed the new game.
Flynn confirmed the release date for the much-awaited game to be on March 21 in North America. Gamers based in Europe can play the game on March 23.
New Brand of N7?
The game will be the first in the franchise to be using the FrostbiteT game engine. This is a practical choice given Andromeda is a completely “different” game from the trilogy. Flynn teased not just new characters, but new planets, and even “gameplay systems.”
According to Siliconera, BioWare will be showing new Mass Effect: Andromeda footage during the Nvidia keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show.
Meanwhile, excited players can still look at the trailer below for some good ‘ol Mass Effect loving.
The game has been officially scheduled for release in March 21 in US and March 23 in Europe, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
