New crew profiles have appeared on the Mass Effect Andromeda website. These reveal a little more insights into two of the human members of the Pathfinder Team.
New Characters Aboard Ark Hyperion in Mass Effect Andromeda
The website teased two new playable characters in Mass Effect Andromeda. First, Liam Kosta is a crisis response specialist with civilian tactical training. He is an idealist, who is willing to take risks for the good of the Pathfinder Initiative. Furthermore, these risks will fine tune the combat skills of the character. The character is a big fan of overclocked dual omni-blades, in which he uses his jump jet to leap into the fray.
Another character introduced in Mass Effect Andromeda is Cora Harper. She is a biotic that spends a lot of time working closely with an Asari commando unit. Harper is the second-in-command to Pathfinder Alec Ryder. In addition, she usually brings a shotgun into combat. She uses her Biotic Charge ability to close the distance with their enemies. Lieutenant Harper is notable for her famous quote: “When your biotics are honed into huntress-grade weapons… people can be weird about it.”
Andromeda: No Cross-Play Support
BioWare developers teased through a set of tweets that there will be no cross-support for Andromeda. They detailed the nature of cross-play on the multiplayer aspect of the game. BioWare producer Fernando Melo and lead designer Ian Frazier explained that the game will not have cross-play features in any form.
In a report by Game Rant, the absence of the cross-play feature should not be a big surprise to fans. The system of cross-playing between consoles and the PC is still very young, with a lot of features to explore. Furthermore, this is why some games in the Mass Effect trilogy had only some of the developers willing to activate such a system in their devices.
There had been rumors that the feature will eventually arrive in games and entertainment systems. After all, Xbox and Windows are now allowing cross-playing in some games such as Gears of War 4. However, Microsoft and Sony do not have this feature yet.
Microsoft appears open for the feature to be available, but Sony has kept silent on the issue. Regardless, it may only be a matter of time before gamers can see cross-play in future games.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released on March 21, 2017. Stay tuned to Video Games Republic to catch the latest on video games, tech, and more.
