The new Dell 8K monitor has created ripples upon its market launch. This monitor will be primarily targeted at the commercial market segment globally. This has been announced by Dell as the first 32 inch 8K laptop display in the world.
This is no mean feat and should give the Dell 8K monitor ample leverage in a hotly contested market segment. This new Ultra Sharp 32 Ultra HD 8K monitor will showcase more than a billion hues.
The Dell 8K Monitor will also possess 33.2 million pixels in terms of overall resolution. Pixel density of the same will stand at 280 ppi. This will put it well ahead of the Retina display unit of the 5K iMac.
Price & Other Details
IGN reports that the Dell monitor is priced at a whopping $5,000 and this makes it quite pricey. However, if you consider the specs on offer, it does make sense. The monitor is slated to be released in the second quarter of 2017.
Dell has already announced that the sheer level of color and detailing is what sets this 8K monitor apart. This monitor is best suited for “commercial fields” according to Dell. This will help in “in-depth image zooming” which is required across several such businesses as per the technology conglomerate.
Medical applications, cutting edge photography and the discovery of oil and gas have been cited by Dell in this regard. These are businesses for which this monitor may be a good option.
Will This Work?
Dell has already announced several other HDR monitors which vary in size between 24 and 27 inches. However, the 8K display unit takes the cake in terms of novelty and overall attractiveness.
The Verge reports that Netflix or gaming are not quite what Dell had in mind while creating this monitor. This monitor has almost no match in the market and should dominate commercial segments with aplomb.
