An estimated Nintendo Switch Price is now plausible, due to the leaks that recently occurred concerning its specifications, around a month before the official live streaming takes place.
Nintendo Switch Leaked Specs
According to the anonymous sources that leaked the specs for the NX, instead of the more recent Pascal graphics technology, its graphics are instead based on Nvidia’s older Maxwell architecture. The Nvidia Tegra processor could still be considered good enough to handle the usual Nintendo style graphics. However, this doesn’t make the NX another PS4 or Xbox One.
The lower specs for the NX doesn’t seem that surprising at all, even before the leaks. During the 8th generation era of consoles, the Nintendo Wii was also lower in terms of hardware as compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360 at the time. But the console still sold well in the market, relying on its unique features and lower price.
Nintendo appears to still stick to their tried and tested marketing tactics that worked before. This also confirms that the Nintendo Switch Price would be even much lower than current and upcoming consoles. While marketed as a home console, the NX could also be considered more of a handheld, further cementing the assumption of it being more affordable.
