Nintendo Switch Price, Specs: Nintendo On Launch Titles, Pricing & More

It’s almost here. The Nintendo Switch is coming real soon and here’s everything you need to know on the latest console from Nintendo.

The Nintendo Switch has been the talk of the gaming scene since its teaser release last year. Known as a hybrid console, the Switch is both a console and a handheld device where you can play games at home or outside. You can dock it to your TV or you can bring it around with you and play with friends.

Fully unveiled early this year, the Nintendo Switch’s game titles, price and specifications have been made public and it packs quite an impressive deal. Third party content is also available although it is limited for now.

The Switch has received a lot of positive reviews ever since its reveal. Some are impressed with the console and are looking forward to trying it out once it’s officially on the market.

It’s still too early to say that the Switch is better than its successors, the 3DS and Wii U. But so far, with all the raves the Switch has gotten and the many features it has, it looks to be Nintendo’s biggest console yet.

Release Date and Price

The Switch is set for release on March 3, 2017. It’s priced at $ 299.99 in the United States and £279.99 in the United Kingdom.

Specs and Game Titles

What comes with the Switch is the console, the docking station for it, and two Joy-Con controllers (left and right). It also comes with a Joy-Con grip that connects the two controllers, an HDMI cable, AC adapter, and wrist straps.

The touch screen’s size is 6.2 inches with a display of 1280 x 720 resolution. Meanwhile, the Joy-Cons have motion control features and infrared. It is said to resemble that of the Wii U’s controller.

The battery life of the Switch is around 2.5 – 6.5 hours and a charging time of 3 hours. It also runs on an Nvidia Tegra CPU, has a 32 GB storage size and a game card slot for Switch games only.

For the game titles, here is the list of games confirmed to release the same day as the Switch’s launch:

  • 1-2-Switch
  • Just Dance 2017
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • Skylanders Imaginators
  • Super Bomberman R

Many other game titles are also available but will have a separate release date. These games include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which releases on April 28 and Splatoon 2 which releases on the summer of 2017.
