OnePlus 3 Update: How To Manually Switch To Android Nougat

The latest OnePlus 3 Update helps you switch over manually to Android Nougat. Before you wonder whether that’s even possible, read on for more! OnePlus has already released the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T stable updates for Nougat.

This OnePlus 3 update came about on the 31st of December, 2016. The two updates were excitingly unveiled a few moments before the onset of the New Year. Carl Pei, the company CEO, posted news of the update on his official Twitter account.

However, the latest OnePlus 3 update throws up an interesting possibility. You can now manually switch over to Android Nougat. Gizbot reports that the update is being rolled out slowly and may take some time to reach your own smartphone.

How to Go About It

You have to first download the OTA update file from official OnePlus based forums. This procedure works for OnePlus 3 users only. You have to then download ADB files. These will help sideload the OTA file you just garnered.

These files have to be then downloaded to your system. You can then boot your smartphone to recovery mode. You should switch off the phone first. Thereafter, press the volume down and power button together for 10 seconds. This will make your phone boot into recovery mode.

The Finishing Touches

You will now witness a main screen option called Install from ADB. Choose this option and link your phone to your PC through the USB cable. Sideload the file by going to the downloaded fastboot and ADB folder.

You should then open the screen for command prompt and copy the downloaded OTA zip file to the ADB folder. This simplifies things to a great extent for you. The adb sideload command has to be chosen for automatic sideloading.

Remember to keep your phone attached to the PC all throughout this process. Once you are done with the flash process, simply reboot your phone from recovery. The initial boot may take a little time.

However, you can then enjoy Android Nougat with ease. This method is quite possible according to Android Beat.
