New Overwatch Characters And More
Kaplan discussed major developments that will kickstart another awesome new year for Overwatch. The director hinted that they are planning to deploy more Overwatch characters in 2017. There is one character that is in the final stages of development and is on its way to the art and design phase. Furthermore, he discussed that his team is working on a number of prototypes, wherein some of the models might not get the green light.
He vaguely mentioned that the DLC map named Oasis is on its way for early 2017. The hint may just be enough to keep the fans happy about the mentioned updates. Dedicated players will be welcomed by a ton of in-game events next year which are usually themed around the holidays. Moreover, some of the events will not be announced to surprise the fans. The new map can be tested at the Public Test Realm (PTR).
Aside from Oasis, the company is also developing other maps that will be released soon. Also, expect major revisions to the communication wheel. The studio plans to add more options that can be customized by the players, as well as adding four voice lines and emotes.
