Persona 5 Release Date Broken By Select Retailers

Prior to the Persona 5 release date in the west set on April 4, 2017, select retailers have launched the game earlier. Some Persona fans found copies of the Standard Edition and the Take Your Heart Premium Edition of the game. One got his copy somewhere in the Los Angeles area while the other refused to tell where he got his.

User AledyHauser commented in a NeoGAF thread that he just returned from Los Angeles and that he somehow ended up with a copy of Persona 5. Although he did not specify where he bought the copy, interested consumers can personally message him for more details.

Meanwhile, user douglashole posted at the Persona 5 Subreddit, his early copy of Persona 5 Take Your Heart Premium Edition. The copy of the game seemed legit as he even uploaded photos of him unboxing the contents of the package.

Persona 5 Take Your Heart Premium Edition is becoming in demand especially that pre-orders from Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, GameSpot, and EBGames.ca have sold out. According to Atlus, Persona fans can still pre-order it through NewEgg, BestBuy.com, BestBuy.ca, Target, Walmart, and VGP.ca.

Meanwhile, people over at Ebay have already listed Persona 5 SteelBook Launch Editions for sale. These will cost around US$64 , a few dollars more expensive than those listed in official game retailers. Game fans can get their copies between April 6, 2017 and May 4, 2017 if they pre-order from Ebay.

Atlus originally set the Persona 5 release date on Feb. 14, 2017 before they delayed it again for several weeks in the west. Meanwhile, Japan already had the game since Sept. 15, 2016, but it only has Japanese sub and dubs. According to PlayStation Blog, in order to compensate for the delay in the west, Atlus will add a free dual-audio DLC for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

Persona 5 Pre-order

Pre-ordering Persona 5 for the PlayStation 4 will also include the SteelBook Launch Edition, while supplies last, as an exclusive item. It will also include a clear disc holder inside with a secondary artwork of the Phantom Thieves in their personal guises. Meanwhile, the Take Your Heart Premium Edition will include the following items:

  • Persona 5 Game
  • SteelBook Collectible Case
  • Soundtrack CD
  • 4″ Morgana Plush
  • 64 Page Hardcover Art Book
  • School Bag

Those interested can now pre-order Persona 5 Standard or SteelBook Launch Edition on the PlayStation 4 for US$59.99 and US$49.99 for the PlayStation 3.
