March is about to end and people are already speculating on the next games included in the PlayStation Plus Instant Game collection next month. Only one title in Sony’s PlayStation Plus free games April 2017 has been confirmed so far. Speculations show that the two titles released in PS Plus Asia might join the ones in North America and Europe.
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance
The official PlayStation Asia Facebook account recently announced three additional free games for its subscribers this March. Two of the free titles include Stories: The Path of Destinies, and Invisible, Inc, which were included in the PS Plus December 2016 lineup in both US and Europe. Another free game for subscribers in Asia is Disgaea 5, which has yet to make its way as a PS Plus game in the West.
Disgaea 5 is developed by Nippon Ichi Software and it officially launched on March and October 2015 for Japan, North America, and Europe, respectively. Disgaea 5 launched exclusively on the PS4 in 2015, but a Nintendo Switch version was released last month. The game features a tactical role-playing game and is the sixth installment in the Disgaea series.
The game focuses on the idea of revenge and features Killia, the protagonist, seeking revenge with Void Dark, the Demon Emperor. Player have to take on his role in order to rid different Netherworlds of The Lost, Void Dark’s army. PlayStation Plus subscribers in Asia can download Disgaea 5 for free starting on March 27, 2017 until April 9, 2017.
Resident Evil Umbrella Corps
Another game that might join PlayStation Plus free games April 2017 is Resident Evil Umbrella Corps, considering it’s currently free for PS Plus subscribers in Asia. It came out for the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows in June 2016 for all regions. Developed and published by Capcom, the game received low ratings from critics, garnering a 5 out of 10 average user rating on Steam, 3.8 out of 10 for IGN, and 3 out of 10 for GameSpot.
Resident Evil Umbrella Corps features a multiplayer-based tactical shooter and a spin-off of the original Resident Evil series. It features the single-player mode, “The Experiment,” that reflects on events that happened in 2012 and 2013. Players take control of Agent 3A-7 and fulfill missions assigned to him by the Umbrella Corporation.
Drawn to Death
The only game confirmed so far next month is Drawn to Death. On the PlayStation Blog, game director David Jaffe announced that they will release Drawn to Death on April 4, 2017. Alongside the announcement, Jaffe also revealed that the game will join the list of next month’s PlayStation Plus free games.
Drawn to Death is a third-person shooter game that happens inside the pages of a high school kid’s notebook. Every drawing made in the notebook will come to life and players have to face whatever drawn.
The game director revealed five additional features that Drawn to Death will have. It includes Sphinx Missions, Character-centric Missions, Mystery Boxes, Climb the Tower and Insane Mystery Special Offer. They recently held a live stream gameplay video over at Sony’s Twitch Channel, showing what players can expect in the game.
