The Pokemon Sun and Moon Battle Tree is the franchise’s seventh generation version of the Battle Tower. This is located just on the other end of Poni Gauntlet in the Pokemon world. This is where players battle trainers and aim for the Legends Red and Blue at the end of the battle.
The Battle Tree facility has three battle styles – Single, Double and Multi. The rules may be simple battling, locking out of specific legends and preventing two of the same Pokemon or items, but if players truly want to surpass the Legends efficiently, they need this Pokemon Sun and Moon Guide. They must be guided accordingly because the Battle Tree is a more difficult mode than just the regular battle.
Red and Blue Challenges
Eurogamer explained in a Pokemon Sun and Moon guide the essence of Battle Legends Red and Blue. They are trainers whom players may encounter in the Battle Tree. As compared to standard Battles where players can only encounter normal level trainers up to level 20, Red and Blue are more difficult to defeat. The Battle Legends cannot be scouted by players as well.
Trainers in the Battle Tree have potential Pokemon that are appropriate for their use in accordance to their levels. They can choose three Pokemon for Singles styles, four for Doubles, and two each for Multi. The Pokemon of trainers under the Battle Legend class are chosen randomly based on the battle styles.
To note in this Pokemon Sun and Moon guide, trainer Blue’s Pokemon are Pidgeot, Arcanine, Alakazam, Machamp, Exeggutor, Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Tyranitar, and Rhyperior. On the other hand, Red’s Pokemon take the form of Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Lapras, and Snorlax.
Battle Tree Rules
Eurogamer also explained the basic rules regarding the Battle Tree. Pokemon up to level 50 will stay at their present level, but those above level 50 will get stats set at level 50. Battles do not count towards experience, Effort Values or Pokedex if Pokemon are used against the player. Only held items like berries and Leftovers — and not items from the bag — may be used, and thus, there will be no Revives or Full Restores.
After battles, everything will be reset, which means that Hit Points and Power Points are refilled and lost held items are restored. Players may take a break after the battles and come back without losing what they have already gained. Two or more of the same Pokemon or held items may not be used. However, moves and items often banned online are allowed.
In Multi Battle style, players can choose to play with a partner through the Internet or through Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI partners may be scouted by choosing the “Scout A Trainer” option after battling them in any style. They are prone to using the first two Pokemon they use against a player when they have been scouted. They cannot be scouted once players fight a new trainer — at least, not until players face them again.
Pokemon Sun and Moon is available on Nintendo 3DS. The game was released worldwide last November 2016. It was done in commemoration of the Pokemon franchise’s twentieth anniversary.
