Pokemon Sun and Moon players noted the lack of Mega Stones in the game. This was first implemented in the previous generation. While post-game releases featured a few of the Stones, the seventh generation is not easy to find. Here is a Pokemon Sun and Moon guide on how to obtain Mega Stones.
Pokemon Sun and Moon Guide: How To Obtain Mega Stones
Good news is, the missing Mega Stones will be available in this Pokemon Sun and Moon guide. The Pokémon Company announced that the Stones will be given as gifts for Sun and Moon online contests. Furthermore, they announced that the first Stones distributed will be Beedrillite and Mawilite. They can be acquired during a competition in February.
What Are Mega Stones?
Mega Stones are evolutionary stones which allow certain Pokémon to reach their final form in this Pokemon Sun and Moon guide. It can be for one-evolution families, or second/true final form for branch-evolution families. The “-ite” or “-nite” preceding its Pokemon name is the main identifier of the Mega Stone. For instance, Lucario’s Mega Stone is called Lucario-“nite,” while Blaziken’s Mega Stone is Blaziken-“ite.” Certain Pokémon will be able to evolve into a Mega form. However, the evolution can change into to their pre-evolved form when the battle ends.
As with previous installments, each game continues the journey of a young Pokémon trainer. This time, the game takes place in the Alola region with the objective of the game being to stop the nefarious criminal organization Team Skull. An additional objective is attempting to challenge various Pokémon trainers of gradually increasing difficulty.
Pokemon Sun and Moon Species
Sun and Moon introduced 81 new Pokémon species. This includes new features such as Alolan forms of previous generation, Z-Moves, and creatures known as Ultra Beasts. The games adapted the battle mechanic known as Mega Evolution.
While Sun and Moon feature the same plot, the games are played separately. Gamers can trade Pokémon between the two games. Upon release, the game received positive reviews from critics, becoming one of the fastest selling games in Nintendo’s history.
