Pokemon Sun And Moon Update: Nearly 6,000 Players Banned – Here’s Why

The Pokemon Company released an official announcement which revealed that some players engaged in unofficial modification of game data. This is also a fair warning to players who are planning to abuse some of the features of Pokemon Sun and Moon.

Pokemon Sun And Moon Announcement

The Sun and Moon announcement starts with warning players who participated in Rating Battles. Furthermore, those who joined in Online Competitions, and Global Missions in Pokemon Sun and Moon who made some unauthorized modification of their game data, are warned as well.

The studio took action in banning some 5,954 players in the game.

– Excluded from the rankings of any Rating Battle they have participated in thus far.
– Can’t participate in any future Online Competitions.
– Can’t use Game Sync, play in Rating Battles, or participate in Online Competitions or Global Missions using the game with which they performed unauthorized data modification.

Moreover, the affected players who attempt to use Game Sync in Rating Battles or Online Competitions, will receive the following message:

The connection to Pokémon
Global Link from this saved data
has been denied.
(Error Code: 090-0212)

In addition, it comes with a fair warning, saying that they will take actions at regular intervals, especially when they found out that some players continue to use game data that were modified in an unofficial way. Next, they warned that if some players repeatedly engaged in unauthorized behavior, further restrictive actions will be taken without warning.

The Pokemon Company will continue to monitor and reprimand those who continue to make unofficial data modifications. This is in order to preserve a safe and fair gameplay environment for users of the Pokémon Global Link. Meanwhile, they encouraged players to follow instructions in the manual to protect their saved game data.
