There have been a lot of gaming laptops showcased during the CES 2017 and there are surely more cool laptops and gadgets to come. Razer is one of the tech companies who showed off their new technology during the tradeshow. Razer focuses on the creation and development of products which centers on gaming laptops and other gaming accessories.
During the CES 2017, Razer has shown a headturner gaming laptop with three screens. They call it the Razer Project Valerie. Its concept boasts uniqueness – here’s why.
How It Works
Project Valerie is a gaming laptop which expands from one to three monitors in just a press of a button. The additional monitors automatically deploy and align properly with the main one.
This resolves gamers’ dilemma on setting up multi-monitor desktop computers when they have just recently bought a new model. The multi-monitor desktop PCs are also not easy to move around. But Razer Project Valerie is more portable than the desktop PCs.
Project Valerie is a thicker version of Razer’s 2016 Blade Pro which is the best laptop Razer has probably made. The thickness is due to the additional 17.3-inch 4K IGZO displays which have been layered behind the main display monitor.
The laptop has a 17-inch main display and the two additional monitors are also 17-inch sizes. It is 1.5 inches thick and around 12 pounds heavy. The laptop uses a uni-body aluminum chassis. Razer Project Valerie also has Chroma lighting behind the monitors.
The laptop runs on a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, the current top graphics card for laptops. Each of the display uses Nvidia G-sync technology where the screen refresh rate and graphics hardware output are made synchronized.
But all cool gadgets come with a price. The single-screened 2016 Razer Blade Pro which serves as Project Valerie’s base starts at a costly $3,700 expense. However, no official information on the price has been given. Razer has not announced when this model will make its sale yet.
Then again, Razer is known for showing off their products at the CES in order to garner awards, but they do not really put the products on the market. This is a form of their marketing strategy because they simply aim to get international attention for the cool products they make.
