Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open-world western action-adventure game. Rockstar Studios developed it and Rockstar Games published it. It is a sequel to Red Dead Redemption of 2010. It will now be the series’ third entry. The game will be available for the PS4 and Xbox One in what seems to be a leaked release date for the eagerly-awaited game.
The trailer released last October 2016 for Red Dead Redemption 2 confirmed that Rockstar Games will release it come Fall 2017. Now, a listing in an online UK retailer website called Littlewoods has leaked the release date for the Red Dead Redemption sequel. In a screenshot taken by the game’s fan website RDR2, Littlewoods revealed that Rockstar Games will release the game on October 2. This is a period within the fall season as first displayed by Rockstar Games. Then, Littlewoods has changed the date for the listing to December 29. Rockstar Games has not yet given an official date for release of the game.
Just like the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, Rockstar Games does not give much detail about the game. Rather, it chose to immerse the viewers into the ambiance of the game. And this actually is effective in getting the fans to anticipate the title. The actual-in game materials are also still quite unknown.
The original Red Dead Redemption from this new sequel offers a gap of seven years. Fans waited for a long time for this new entry. So much so that on the day Rockstar Games announced the game’s release for the PS4 and Xbox One platforms, fans have already started a petition asking for them to create the game on a PC platform. Rockstar Games’ marketing strategy is that they give the fewest bits of information they can offer to keep the fans’ excitement going. While Rockstar Games revealed only a few gameplay details about the game, a concrete fact is that players can choose to play in a multiplayer mode.
People and fans expect much success upon the final release of the game. Analysts have already predicted its success. Hence Macquarie Securities analyst Ben Schachter released a statement which claims that it will move 12 million units during Take-Two’s second fiscal quarter of July to September this year. Hideo Kojima – Japanese video game designer, screenwriter, director, and producer who is known for his thematic approach to video games – has even revealed that he anticipates Red Dead Redemption 2 most for this year.
