Resident Evil 2 Remake Release Date & Features – Everything We Know So Far

After the release of Resident Evil 7 and its success, Capcom announced that Resident Evil Revelations will come to out soon. According to the developers, the game will come out, both in physical and digital editions, in Fall of 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This will give players a glimpse of what might the anticipated Resident Evil 2 Remake will look like.

According to AutooMobile, the announcement of Resident Evil Revelations will give Capcom to work on Resident Evil 2 Remake. Fans claim that the original Resident Evil 2 is the best one next to Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 4.

Destructoid reported that Capcom first released the game as a 3DS exclusive in 2012 before they decided to remaster it. Developers nor producers have yet to announce a release date but it will surely arrive after Resident Evil Revelations.

Resident Evil 7 Revelations might come out during the months of August to September which could mean the next would be October to December. The original game came out on Jan. 21, 1998 so publishers might do the same for the remastered version.

Resident Evil 2 Gameplay

The original game featured the same gameplay mechanics the first Resident Evil game had. Players have to explore the city while killing zombies and solving puzzles.

The game had two original protagonists that can carry firearms which they can use against zombies. Players can check from their status screen the conditions of their characters.

If wounded, players can use, like in past and present Resident Evil games, medicine or herbs to heal their characters. Their condition can also be based on how they are acting. If they are in pain, the characters will hold their stomachs and if they are about to die, they will limp slowly.

Resident Evil 2 Plot

The game will start two months after the happenings of the first Resident Evil game in the fictional Raccoon City. Everyone became zombies because of the T-virus, a biological weapon developed by the Umbrella company.

The two main characters of the game are Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Leon is a rookie police while Claire is a college student searching for his brother Chris.

The two will have to work together in order to survive and save the other survivors. It will feature a Zapping System which will have each of them encounter a scenario that will unlock others. The remastered version is expected to have enhanced graphics and additional features to its gameplay.
