The Samsung Galaxy S8 has been at the centre of widespread speculation amongst gadget buffs. The Galaxy S8 is slated to be released soon and should come with more exciting features. There are now rumors of a new and enhanced single camera in place of the dual camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is likely to get a single lens system for the primary camera setup. It may ditch the earlier dual camera setup as per reports. Samsung Vice Chairman Lee Jae-Yong has already promised that the S8 will get an “improved camera”.
According to Inquistr, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will not come with a dual camera setup anymore. There are several leaks which state that the two-camera program has been discarded. However, the larger 6.2 inch S8 variant may continue with a dual camera setup. Moreover, the standard variant of the S8 will ditch the same.
Autofocus May Be a Key Factor
Samsung may look to emulate Apple since the standard iPhone 7 has a single camera. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 Plus has a dual camera system. This could well be the format for the Galaxy S8 as well. The Galaxy S8 is also set to offer autofocus features as per reports.
There are rumors of Samsung already testing autofocus actuators and these are likely to have no impact due to the camera size. However, the integration of this element may lead to the prices being scaled up for the smartphone.
Why The Galaxy S8 May Be a Game Changer
In case this feature is added, the S8 will be the only smartphone apart from the Xperia M5 and HTC Desire Eye to have an autofocus Selfie camera. The Indian Express also reports that the dual camera setup may well be discarded in case of the Galaxy S8.
The S8 is also expected to get storage options up to a massive 256 GB along with 6 GB of RAM. The smartphone is likely to be launched early next year.
