Before the launch of Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, Cl Games confirmed that the game would not come out on the Nintendo Switch. The triple-A open-world game would only be available on April 25, 2017 for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
In an interview with Finder, game lead level designer Tomasz Pruski ruled out the possibility of Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 for the Nintendo Switch. Pruski mentioned they are still looking at the console for future products since Sniper is not their only IP.
Cl Games have already met with Nintendo and talked about the possibilities of future game titles. Although it may seem possible that a different game can launch on the Nintendo Swith, Cl Games has not made anything official yet.
Pruski said that Cl Games has an install base figure before they would release a title on a specific platform. They have to work harder than porting from PlayStation to Xbox One, so developers might look to develop other games just for the Nintendo Switch.
If Nintendo Switch would have a decent number of user base, developers would surely launch games for it. Pruski thinks that the Switch will not have any problems with the user base since it is a young console and it does not have a lot of competition.
Even if developers release a game for Nintendo Switch now, most of the people who want the console will still buy it. Aside from this, Pruski hopes that more third-party games will come out for the Switch than the Wii U.
Based on Pruski statement regarding a release on the Nintendo Switch, Cl Games might launch a Cooking Academy game on the console. They might consider it more than the upcoming sequel for Lord of the Fallen, which is currently in development.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Development
Cl Games announced Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 on Dec. 16, 2014 and they dubbed it as “the best sniper experience for PC and next-gen consoles.” They previewed its first gameplay footage during E3 2015.
Cl Games has sold over 5.5 million copies of their previous games. Because of this success, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is the first entry in the series to have a triple-A production scale.
Cl Games has Paul B. Robinson as the game’s creative director and Jess Lebow as their lead narrative designer. Robinson is a military veteran who has a 20-year experience in game development. Meanwhile, Lebow has worked with other popular games such as League of Legends, Guild Wars, and Far Cry.
