Star Wars Rogue One film is currently taking the movie scene by storm. It reached $290 million just on its opening weekend. Considering that it is a standalone film clearly implies that Star Wars Episode 8, which continues the saga, will have a bigger magnitude of success.
Star Wars Rogue One flooded the internet for almost a year before its actual theater release. Before Rogue One‘s premiere, fans were all on standby for every detail about the movie that was to be revealed. The same thing is now happening with Star Wars Episode 8 as hints about when the first trailer will be released were enough to create a buzz.
When can people expect to see some promos for Episode 8?
According to a report by Ecumenical News, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy shared that the first sneak peak of Star Wars Episode 8 can be expected Spring of next year. No definite date was given.

Kennedy said since Star Wars Rogue One was just released in theaters, they want to give the film some breathing time before they release promos for the next movie. Considering that the Star Wars movies that will be released every year until 2019 will premiere every December, it is expected that the promos for each will also start almost the same time.
Adam Driver who plays main antagonist, Kylo Ren, has a different opinion on this matter, however. According to a report by Enstarz, the actor said that he prefers that the upcoming Star Wars film be released without prior trailers. Driver explained that the audience will be more excited in watching the film without prior knowledge or sneak peaks.
But considering Kennedy’s recent statements, it will not be the case. The filming if Star Wars Episode 8 ended earlier this year and is scheduled to be released on December 15, 2017.
