Star Wars Rogue One actor Mads Mikkelsen has been confirmed to star in ‘Death Stranding‘, an upcoming game from Hideo Kojima!
Hideo Kojima is best known for creating the Metal Gear series of video games. However, his recent falling out and unfavorable treatment from Konami had made him terminate his contract with the company. This in turn lead to the re-establishment of Kojima Productions as an independent studio. Kojima Productions initially started as a subsidiary of Konami before it got disbanded, then recently got established again, directly under Hideo Kojima this time.
Death Stranding is the first game under the flagship of the new Kojima Productions. First unveiled during the Sony E3 this year, it is an open world environent action game estimated to be released in the year 2019. It is also said to feature multiplayer functions.
It’s be confirmed that at least two celebrities are set to star in the upcoming game via motion capture.
American actor Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead fame is also confirmed to be in the game. He is set to portray the main protagonist in Death Stranding.
Norman Reedus was originally meant to portray the protagonist in the cancelled Silent Hill reboot.
Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is known to most as Kaecilius in the recent Marvel movie Doctor Strange. He is also in the upcoming Star Wars Rogue One movie as Galen Erso. Mads Mikkelsen is said to be going to portray the antagonist of the game.
While working with Hideo Kojima, Mads Mikkelsen had praised the video game director and creator as the Kasparov of video games, as posted in the Games Radar website.
Mads Mikkelsen also had no idea what Death Stranding is really all about, as mentioned in an interview that was posted in the Game Spot website.
Death Stranding so far looks quite promising. But with an estimated two years before it gets released, fans of Mads Mikkelsen would have to settle for now with the upcoming Star Wars Rogue One this 16th December.
