A player of Street Fighter 5 is developing a modification (mod) that will be adding an arcade mode to the game.
Street Fighter 5 Arcade Mode
Critics stated that the latest Street Fighter installment seems to lack a lot of gameplay content compared to its predecessors. The lack of content made a player decide to take the matter into his own hands. A former game designer under the YouTube username Resvrgram is developing an arcade mode for the game. The developer explained in the description that the mod is made through fusing scripting sequences of CPU opponents in Versus Mode. In addition, he added new user interface (UI) elements to make the Arcade Mode dependencies cohesive.
The former game designer mentioned that he developed the idea while he was spending his holiday break. Resvrgram said that he is getting impatient with the matchmaking sequence in Versus Mode. This made him decide to create the mod. Meanwhile, he is hoping that the mod will urge Capcom to invest on the development of the content for Arcade.
In addition, the designer has not revealed details of the mod’s release. Complete patch notes can be found on his YouTube account.
Capcom Support Until 2020
Capcom stated in a Famitsu interview that they are planning to unveil downloadable content (DLC) for the game until 2020. Hopefully, the former game designer’s move to create an Arcade mode will urge the studio to fast track development for the official game mode content.
In the meantime, a fan found files suggesting that Capcom is currently developing the content. However, the studio has not officially announced that it is on its way. Meanwhile, it is certain that more characters are included in the game’s next season pass that will be released next month.
The Street Fighter 5 Character Pass features new and returning characters in the game. Furthermore, new battle mechanics and strategies around the V-Gauge, and EX-Gauge will be included to add strategy and depth to the game.
