The classics are back! Following the release of the Classic Nintendo NES comes the Super Retro Boy.
What is Super Retro Boy?
The game console is a third-party entertainment system developed by Retro-bit. The console can play Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance cartridges. Furthermore, the portable device allows gamers to play old titles in a new, sleek console.
The Super Retro console is reminiscent to the shape and size of the original Game Boy. In addition, players can easily put the device in their pockets. However, it is big enough that the screen, D-Pad and buttons feel properly spaced out. The feel is also comfortable for long-term playing.

Furthermore, the console has one new trick compared to its classic brother. The Super Retro Boy is packed with a rechargeable battery that allows gamers to use it for almost 10 hours without charging. In addition, the console supports micro-USB which allows players to charge it on a PC.
Meanwhile, the console comes with a 10-in-1 multi-game cartridge. The titles included in the release have not been revealed. Furthermore, the screen looks crisp complete with a high-definition display. The D-Pad is solid, but was not sturdy enough for continuous use. However, the case is sturdy which may withstand accidental falls.
The developer Retro-Bit is meeting with game makers for the classic Game Boy to relaunch their games to cater to the new market. Some of the titles played with the Super Retro console recently are F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, and Yu Gi Oh among others.
The console can’t replace the well-loved original consoles. The quality of Game Boy Advance SP among others will allow users to play just like in the past. However, the new Retro device allows players to pop games made for three consoles. A big plus for portability, specially if the player do not have room for three devices at once.
The Super Retro Boy is available in black and white. Gamers can buy the console at $80 a pop. Meanwhile, expect the game system to hit the shelves in August 2017. Stay tuned to Video Games Republic to catch the latest on video games, tech and more.
