Tekken 7 PS4 to gain two new characters, and a new online tournament mode was also confirmed as the game also heads to the Xbox One and Windows PC! The latest trailer from Bandai Namco showcases these latest additions into the console and PC ports of the popular arcade fighting game!
Kuma and Panda are the latest additions to the Tekken 7 PS4 and Xbox One and PC
The Tekken 7 ports would really be ‘beary’ fun with the return of the two beloved bears in the game, Kuma and Panda! Long time players of the game would definitely appreciate the two back into the roster again, as both were last seen during Tekken 6.
Kuma first appeared ever since the first Tekken game, succeeded by his child later on at the time of Tekken 3. It was also during Tekken 3 that Panda made its first appearance. Kuma is Heihachi’s pet while Panda is Xiaoyu’s pet and bodyguard of sorts.
To keep things interesting and fresh, Kuma and Panda would now have different move sets from each other, unlike in the previous games where Panda was merely a palette swap of Kuma. Kuma’s fighting style appears to focus more on shorter juggles that knock back its opponent. Panda’s fighting style, meanwhile, launches its opponent further into the air, leaving it open to air combos. The PC Gamer website has pointed out the difference between the move set of the two.
Online Tournament Mode
The Tekken 7 ports would also feature an online tournament mode. This mode allows players to organize their own online tournaments. Single and Double elimination are so far the confirmed available options, as well as a participants filter to weed out unwanted trolls. A spectator mode is also available, as well as other in-game content such as in-game money and items, as mentioned by Game N Guide on their website.
The Tekken 7 PS4 and Xbox One and PC are expected to be released during the early months of 2017.
