Tekken 7 PS4, Xbox One, and PC are set for release in early 2017 and reports reveal Street Fighter‘s Akuma will be joining the game’s roster of fighters . Meanwhile, Tekken X Street Fighter is still on hiatus.
Tekken characters are going to experience the Wrath of the Raging Demon as Akuma joins the Tekken 7 PS4 roster! While Tekken X Street Fighter is still on limbo, the Tekken universe would now feel the fist of Akuma (Gouki in Japan).
Producer Harada himself has confirmed the presence of the evil incarnate warrior, as reported by GameNGuide.
Akuma’s presence won’t be just a mere non-canonical crossover. His storyline would actually become a part of the Tekken universe. So far, there had been no word or hints if other Street Fighter characters would be a part of the line up.
Tekken X Street Fighter Development to Continue?
As reported by Yibada, Harada stated that the fanbase of both franchises would feel conflicted with the sudden release of the game. Especially that Tekken is still pretty hot in the arcades.
Harada also mentioned that the release of Tekken X Street Fighter would be based upon the success of the Tekken 7 PS4 and other versions.
A Tekken 7 Nintendo Switch release is also possible. However, Harada still hasn’t shown interest in the Xbox One S and PlayStation 4 Pro.
