[Watch] Cancelled Halo Mega Bloks Game: First Look At Gameplay Footage

Uh-oh. Looks like the Halo Mega Bloks game for Xbox 36o is a goner. Microsoft and Mega Bloks cancelled the development of Halo Mega Bloks this week according to reports.

Halo Mega Bloks Game History

Andrew Borman published a video of Halo in its pre-development stage. Borman is the founder of Preserving Game History on Youtube. Furthermore, the footage includes scenes of the cancelled game. Moreover, the video of unreleased scenes for the cancelled Halo Mega Bloks game can be found at the bottom of the article.

Meanwhile, critics who saw the footage of the game were impressed with the graphics. In addition, the game that ran on Unreal Engine 3 features Halo weapons such as the Battle Rifle, and Energy Sword. Furthermore, there are a lot of features in the game. This includes Lego-style humor, platforming sections, and a Besieged mode reminiscent of Horde.

Halo Mega Bloks Game For Kids

However, it seems there is still hope. 343 Industries director Bonnie Ross mentioned a possibility of releasing a Halo game for kids. A collaboration of Halo and Mega Bloks specifically catered to kids looks like the perfect transition for the cancelled game.

Meanwhile, Mega Bloks and Microsoft are currently working on toys for the franchise. Versions of the Halo Mega Bloks Dual Mode UNSC Warthog, and Halo Mega Bloks Heroes Assistant II are available. Check out Xbox Wire for the full of toys.

Halo is a first-person shooter game created by Bungie. The series revolves around the war between humanity and an alliance of aliens known as The Covenant. It shifts focus to Master Chief John-117 and his companion, Cortana. Halo refers to the large ring-like super weapons created to eliminate the flood. Strong sales encouraged Bungie to produce merchandise for Halo. The studio released graphic novels, and products related to the game.

However, Bungie originally shifted its gears to a third-person action game. They rewrote the game’s engine making it the Halo known by its fans today. There are 13 titles bearing the Halo trademark today including Halo Wars 2.

Halo is now available on Xbox and PC. Stay tuned to Video Games Republic to catch the latest on video games, tech and more.
