[Watch] Final Fantasy Awakening Android & iOS: New Gameplay Footage Shows Missions & Characters

Square Enix has recently released a trailer Final Fantasy Awakening, which is already in open beta in China.

Final Fantasy Awakening

Formerly known as Final Fantasy Type-0 Online, it was first announced around September last year. The Final Fantasy spin-off is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, just like Final Fantasy 14 and its Version 2.0, Final Fantasy 14 A Realm Reborn. However, Awakening is meant for the PC, and also mobile devices such as iOS and Android Tablets and Smart Phones.

The reason why the game is released in China first is because of its developer, China-based ‘Perfect World’, whose well-known game is the Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game Perfect World, which bears the same name as its Developer and Publisher.

The setting and universe of the game would take place in the same world as Final Fantasy Type-0. Technically, the gameplay would be almost the same as Final Fantasy Type-0, but with online and social elements, despite being marketed as a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.

Awakening Trailer

Watch the trailer below. The trailer runs for about two hours. The gameplay appears to emphasize on hack and slash, and players would be able to party with their friends online to take on missions together.

Class Zero members such as Ace, Rem, Cinque, Sice, and Eight are present in the game. However, in typical Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game fashion, players would be able to select a character class of their choice, then customize their character avatars to their liking. The character classes present in the game are obviously based on Class Zero members.

Would there be an international release for the game?

During the first time the game was announced, it was clearly stated that the game would be released internationally. First would be in Japan after the open beta test in China. An English version worldwide release is set to follow after the Japanese release. As of now, no further announcements have been made yet concerning the estimated time of release for the Japanese and English versions.

Final Fantasy Awakening could be played now since the APK is available for download, but obviously it would still be in Chinese.
