Koei Tecmo has released four new trailers for Musou Stars. The new trailers showcase the moves of Kasumi, Sophie, Wang Yuanji, and Ōka.
The new trailers give players an idea on how the aforementioned characters would perform in the game.
Kasumi (Dead or Alive)
The presence of Kasumi of Dead or Alive fame in a crossover game from Koei Tecmo isn’t really that surprising, and is somewhat expected. The nukenin (rogue ninja) is the series mascot for the Dead or Alive series, and main protagonist in most of its games.
While well-known in fighting and beach volleyball games, this isn’t her first time in a musou game, the first being in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. Her moveset in the game so far appears to consist mostly of her moves from the Dead or Alive fighting games, unlike in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, where she uses her weapon more often. She is also carrying her trademark Kodachi or short sword, unlike in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate.
Sophie Neuenmuller (Atelier)
The main and titular character of Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book. Hailing from a Japanese Role Playing Game with a turn-based combat system, some might be skeptical and think she would perform awkwardly in the game. This is especially because Sophie is more of a spell-caster.
As the trailer shows, her fighting style had shifted more into a battle-caster. Sophie is now attacking with her staff more often in conjunction with her spells. This is Sophie’s first time in a musou game, but she fits along with the tone of Musou Stars just fine.
Wang Yuanji (Dynasty Warriors)
First debuted in Dynasty Warriors 7, Wang Yuanji is a popular character in the Dynasty Warriors series. Wang Yuanji is loosely based on the Chinese historical figure of the same name. She has a reputation for topping Dynasty Warriors polls as the best female character.
Since she is from a musou game already, her moveset requires little to no iteration at all. Wang Yuanji still fights with her trademark throwing knives at mid-range.
This is the first time Ōka would be in a musou game, but she really fits in the game like a glove. Toukiden is an Action Role Playing Game after all. Ōka also serves as one of the mascot characters in the Toukiden franchise. This would also be the first time players get to play as her. Her trademark long sword is a sight to behold when dealing with mobs of enemies.
Marie Rose and Honoka, both from the Dead or Alive series, have also been recently added. Along with them comes Rio Tachibana of Super Blackjack and her own anime, Rio Rainbow Gate. This makes the current character roster a total of 22.
