The NieR Automata demo was just recently made available for PSN download. Not even a week after the demo drop, Square Enix released more gameplay footage that features customization, sub-quests, weapons and new merchandise.

Square Enix, a popular video games developer, is yet again making a big RPG release with NieR Automata. The said role-playing game is the sequel to NieR which was released on April 22, 2010. It was directed by Taro Yoko and produced by Yosuke Saito.
On the second live stream the studio hosted, gamers from around the world saw a lot of additional gameplay footage on top of what was in the NieR Automata demo released earlier. The gameplay footage starts at 24:00 and by the 24:15 mark, the sub-quests were on display.
The customization feature is part of the “Plug-In Chip” system that clocks in at 35:53 of the video, as reported by Siliconera. It lets the player customize skills and abilities in different ways like emphasizing more on defense or attack power.
More collaboration weapons were also revealed in the footage. At around the 50:42 mark, weapons like Cypress Stick with Iconic Crossover Weapons were shown. The Engine Blade of Noctis’ from Final Fantasy XV was also there.
The new merchandise that was shown in the live stream include a framed cover art replica, a smartphone case, Emil mini-table, Emil cushion and Emil cookies. It is available for pre-order in Lawson and Loppi & Web.

Producers Yosuke Saito and Eijiro Nishimura confirmed that the PlayStation 4 version of the game will run at 1600×900 resolution with 60 frames per second. While the PS4 Pro version, as reported by Wccftech, will run at 1920×1080 resolution with 60 FPS. It is reported that 4K resolution display will not be available yet.
NieR Automata is scheduled to be released in Japan on February 23, in North America on March 7 and Europe on March 10, 2017. There are no confirmed reports as to when the PC version is out but the Steam release is expected to happen early next year.
