12-Gun Salute For Willem In Overwatch
Blizzard’s community is filled with fans who are really into the game. Overwatch has one of the largest audiences, with a fanbase of 20 million. The communication system of the game led to friendships built within the platform. For instance, a group of friends found out that their pal Willem Den Toom passed away. They decided to remember him by giving him a 12-gun salute using some of his favorite characters in the team-based shooter game.
The Toom memorial began with a big group of Pharah avatars shooting their rocket launchers directly towards the sun. Furthermore, they followed it with Reinhardt’s firing flames aiming to the sky. Next, Toom’s group of friends activated a bunch of Symmetra characters in Overwatch. Even more, they’ve added a number of Zaryas and Lucios, ending the memorial by summoning a number of Spirit Dragons.
Who Is Willem Den Toom?
Toom is a regular player of the famous team-based shooter game. He was a contributor at Too Much Gaming, mostly focused on game news. The contributor and gamer passed at the very young age of 36. The 12-gun salute that his friends did in the game was a great send-off for the avid gamer, especially since they used all of his favorite characters.
Meanwhile, his colleagues at Too Much Gaming remembered him by posting a message for their friend. The heartfelt message starts by saying, “Wherever you are. May the payload be always moving, the point always contested, no one trickles out, and may there always a healer on your team. We miss you, big guy. This play of the game is for you.”
The moving tribute reminds gamers that the online culture may be teeming with troll fests, and other forms of mockery. But there are still friends who will always remember the good things and set aside the differences of one another. May Willem Den Toom rest in peace.
